This is a blue and white stem cup probably used for tea or wine that was used by the elite of the Chinese people , found at the site of Fort Canning Park . The age of this blue and white stem cup was based on 14th Century Chinese traveller Wang Dayuan . Porcelain was of high demand in the 14th Century . It could have been the Chinese diplomats or officials that arrived in Singapore and gave it to the rulers of Singapore then , that was probably why it was found at the site of Fort Canning park. Or it could be trading between the people that came to Singapore. The presence of the blue and white stem cup in the 14th Century tells us that there was presence of Chinese and that the Chinese culture had arrived in the 14th Century.
This armlet bears the motif of the Hindu kala,a god symbolising time and destruction which figures prominently in pre-Angkor and Angkorian lintels, Javanese and Balinese (Banaspati) art and temple motifs. It is possible these ornaments were worn by a member of the royal family of Singapore/Temasek, who buried them in the face of imminent invasion. It is most probably related to political and cultural aspects. Javanese or Balinese diplomats may have given the a member of the royal family of Singapore/Temasek for diplomatic reasons. This shows that Indians were present and Indian culture arrived in Singapore/Temasek before or during the 14th Century.

The purpose of the manuscript was mainly to legitimise the rule of the Sultans of Johor by tracing their royal lineage to the legendary rulers of Srivijaya, Temasek and Melaka. Its is related to the political aspect. Its contents include the history of Singapore/Temasek`s rulers.
